Why this role
FlyingToast's core value proposition is AI content that matches a company's real brand voice, not generic generated copy. This role owns the content generation pipeline: prompts, brand voice matching, quality scoring, knowledge extraction, and retrieval. You'll work with LLM APIs and build systems that make AI output useful, reviewable, and on-brand.
What you'll do
- Design and optimize LLM prompts for brand voice matching across 13+ social platforms
- Build and iterate on content generation pipelines with quality scoring and guardrails
- Develop brand knowledge extraction from PDFs, websites, and unstructured text
- Experiment with embedding models, vector search, and retrieval strategies
- Monitor AI output quality and build feedback loops from engagement data
- Stay current with LLM capabilities and integrate new models as they ship
What we're looking for
- 3+ years working with LLMs in production (not just prototypes)
- Deep experience with prompt engineering, RAG architectures, and embedding systems
- Understanding of content safety, compliance constraints, and responsible AI practices
- Ability to evaluate AI output quality both quantitatively and qualitatively
- Comfort working in PHP/Laravel. You do not need to be an expert, but you will write production code.
Nice to have
- Experience in regulated industries (legal, finance, healthcare)
- Background in NLP or computational linguistics
- Familiarity with Anthropic's Claude API and tool use patterns
- Experience with content generation at scale
What success looks like
In your first 6 months...
- Content generation quality scores consistently beat our baseline across all platform types
- Brand voice matching is strong enough that users trust drafts as a starting point
- Knowledge extraction pipeline handles new document types reliably with minimal manual intervention

$150,000-$200,000/year
