Why this role
FlyingToast is an AI-powered command center where business teams manage their social presence. The design challenges are real: approval workflows for compliance-sensitive content, AI interaction patterns that feel useful and controlled, data-rich dashboards, and a publishing calendar that handles 13+ platforms. You'll own design work end-to-end and collaborate closely with engineering to ship.
What you'll do
- Own the full design process from user research to high-fidelity UI to production handoff
- Design data-rich dashboards, approval workflows, and AI interaction patterns
- Maintain and evolve the design system (Tailwind + Reka UI component library)
- Conduct user research with corporate marketing teams in regulated industries
- Create prototypes to test complex interactions before engineering invests
- Collaborate daily with engineering from concept through shipped UI
What we're looking for
- 4+ years product design experience, B2B SaaS strongly preferred
- Strong systems thinking and component-based design skills
- Proficiency with Figma including prototyping and design system management
- Portfolio showing enterprise or complex workflow design (not just marketing sites)
- Ability to balance user delight with information density. Our users need both.
Nice to have
- Experience designing AI-powered products or conversational interfaces
- Familiarity with Tailwind CSS and utility-first design approaches
- Background designing for regulated industries where compliance affects UX
- Experience with motion design and micro-interactions
What success looks like
In your first 6 months...
- The design system is documented, consistent, and engineering can build new screens without design bottlenecks
- User research has directly influenced at least two major feature decisions
- Key user flows (onboarding, post creation, approval) have measurably improved usability metrics
Compensation
$120,000-$160,000/year
