What this brand voice analyzer checks

One read of your homepage, four plain answers, and three sample posts written from them.

  • Voice traits

A few words that describe how your business sounds, such as plain-spoken, warm or technical.

  • The line behind each trait

Where we found one, the sentence from your homepage that the trait is based on, so you can check it.

  • Who you seem to be talking to

The audience your homepage is written for, in one or two sentences.

  • Topics you come back to

The subjects your site keeps returning to, which make natural material for posts.

Then it writes three sample posts in that voice for LinkedIn, Instagram or X.

Examples show a fictional business.

Why it reads your website instead of asking you to paste text

Most voice checkers ask you to paste a sample, and most of us pick our best paragraph. Your website is what customers actually read. Reading it shows the voice you publish, not the one you intend.

The paragraph you'd paste

Your best sentence, polished for the occasion.

Brand read-out

“Calm, clear books1 for people who'd rather be running their business2.”

Voice: Reassuring, never alarming

Audience: Owners, not accountants

That gap is useful to see. If the read surprises you, the fix is usually on your homepage, not in your head.

Topics

  2. 02Monthly books

Lines that show it

“We'll tell you the number before it's due.”1

Example output for a fictional business
  1. Start with the numbers

Each trait is numbered, and where we found a line on your homepage that shows it, the line is quoted and highlighted with the same number. Start there.

  2. If a trait surprises you

If a trait surprises you, read its line. Either your site says something you didn't quite mean, or the analyzer leaned too hard on one sentence. Both are worth knowing.

  3. Voice holds, tone passes

A voice trait is something that holds across the page, like "plain-spoken". A one-off tone, like the excitement of a launch banner, isn't your voice. If a trait only rests on one loud sentence, treat it with care.

Brand voice vs tone: the short version

Here is one fictional accounting firm, same voice, two tones.

Voice
Your stable personality.
Tone
How that personality adjusts to the moment and the platform.
Proposal · more formal
"We'll prepare your quarterly estimates and send you the figure two weeks before each deadline."
Instagram · lighter
"Tax deadline in two weeks? Deep breath. We'll send you the number. You carry on."

Both are plain-spoken and reassuring. That's the voice.

Good to know

When the analysis gets it wrong

It is only as good as your homepage copy. These are the usual reasons a read comes out vague or off, and what to do about each.

  • A thin or template homepage

If the page is mostly images or stock phrases, there is little voice to find, so the read will be general. Treat it as a hint to add a few specific sentences to your homepage.

  • Text that loads only with JavaScript

Some sites show their words only after scripts run, and some block automated visitors. When we cannot read enough, the tool says so rather than guessing.

  • A site written for several audiences

If one page speaks to buyers, partners and job seekers at once, the read blends them. Check the quoted lines to see which audience each trait came from.

  • Copy written for search engines

Keyword-heavy copy produces a keyword-heavy read. That is a useful signal in itself: it is how your site sounds to a customer, too.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about what the free tool reads, what it writes and what it costs.

Is the brand voice analyzer really free?

Yes. You do not need an account or a card. Each visitor gets one free analysis a day, and looking at the same website again is free.

What does it read on my website?

Your public homepage only. It does not log in anywhere and cannot read pages behind a password.

How is this different from pasting my copy into ChatGPT?

You can do that, but you have to choose what to paste and write the instructions yourself. This tool reads your live homepage, quotes the line each voice trait is based on, and then writes three posts in that voice for the platform you pick, so you can check whether it got you right.

How accurate is it?

It is only as good as your homepage copy. If the page is thin, mostly images, or written for search engines rather than customers, the read will be vague. Check the quoted line behind each trait and treat the result as a starting point to edit, not a verdict.

Do you save my website or the results?

We store the website address, the result and a scrambled version of your IP address for up to 30 days, so repeat visits are fast and the tool cannot be abused. Results are never published. Your email is only stored if you ask us to email you the posts.

Can FlyingToast write posts in this voice every week?

Yes. In a 14-day free trial, with no card, FlyingToast builds a fuller brand profile from your website and the documents you add, and writes drafts for LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, Threads and Bluesky. You approve each post before it goes live.

What is the difference between brand voice and tone?

Brand voice is the consistent personality in everything you write, such as plain-spoken, warm or technical. Tone is how that voice adjusts to the moment: more formal in a proposal, lighter on Instagram. The analyzer describes your voice and the sample posts show it adapted to the platform you picked.
